Tallahassee, Fla. – On Friday, the Foundation for Excellence in Education (ExcelinEd) and Governor and Mrs. Jeb Bush will honor the 2015 Arts for Life! scholarship winners at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami-Dade County.
Twenty-five scholars were selected from more than 800 outstanding applicants from 42 counties across Florida. Students in public, magnet, charter, virtual and private schools, as well as home education programs, vied for the prestigious award now in its 16th year. This year’s scholarship winners were selected by a committee of respected experts in one of the scholarship’s five disciplines of creative writing, dance, drama, music or visual art.

Note: Program begins promptly 11:15 AM with Performances & Exhibition by Recipients in the Peacock Foundation Studio, followed by an Awards Luncheon in the Knight Concert Hall at 12:15 PM. Governor Bush to speak at 12:50 PM.
All members of the media, including bloggers, who plan to cover the Arts for Life! Program Celebration must be credentialed by the Foundation for Excellence in Education. All media must apply for advance credentials online via the Media Registration Form by COB Thursday, June 4. Advance registration is strongly encouraged as space is limited and onsite registration may be subject to delays.

For planning purposes, media check-in will open on Friday, June 5 at 9:30 a.m. in the lobby of the Ziff Ballet Opera House. Parking options include metered parking around the Center as well as Lot C on 13th street between Biscayne Blvd and NE 2nd Avenue (directly across from Ziff Ballet Opera House).
Upon check-in at the event, approved media will be asked to present a current year news media credential in conjunction with a government-issued photo ID, such as a valid state driver’s license or passport. If a current year news media credential is not available, a valid business card in conjunction with a government-issued photo ID, such as a valid state driver’s license or passport, may be accepted.
Previous accreditation to Foundation for Excellence in Education events does not guarantee the issuance of media or blogger credentials for this event.
The Foundation for Excellence in Education, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to withhold press credentials from members of the news media, limit the number of credentials assigned to any news organization, and revoke credentials from members of the news media before or during the event for any reason. Acceptance of press credentials constitutes agreement by the bearer and his or her organization to abide by any terms set forth by the Foundation for Excellence in Education.
Credentialed members of the media are welcome to cover the celebration events from designated press areas. Participation in Q&A segments is reserved for scholarship recipients.
Risers will be provided in the Peacock Foundation Studios for press coverage. Press may cover the Awards Luncheon in the Knight Concert Hall from an elevated access area that provides full view of stage. Space in both is limited. All press are required to be in position prior to the start of the program. Camera crews wishing to cover the Performances and Exhibition must be set up by 10:00am.
