We are lost at sea.
Rudders and sails give the false illusion of control
as we fall victim to the forces of nature upon us.
Relying solely on the wind to bring us home,
We can chart a path,
We can map the stars,
Hoping to find some sense of solid ground
Before the ocean is given the chance to drown our grasping souls.
We hope to escape the sensation of salt water in lungs,
However, this is only a hope.
A hope we treasure,
Locked away in the hands of an all-encompassing force of nature.
And I am caught between comfort and suffocation.
